Chester County Hospital Closures
Chester County is feeling the loss of both the Jennersville and Brandywine Hospitals, especially in the western Chester County area. Due to these closures, the Chester County government has set up an informational hub for Chesco residents.
It should be noted that all Chester County hospitals are experiencing an influx of patients, especially in the emergency room. Emergency room treatment is prioritized by medical need at the time of arrival, not by method of arrival. For non life-threatening conditions, Chesco government asks that you please call your primary care provider or schedule an appointment at a clinic or urgent care to reduce the strain on our limited emergency rooms.
Included in the page are resources and answers to common questions that have come up in response to the hospitals closing. Information on the page will continue to be updated as more resources and questions arise.
Brandywine Hospital and their emergency department are scheduled to close on January 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm. Brandywine’s remaining clinical services are in the process of being scaled back prior to the scheduled closing date.
If you have a question or request that hasn’t already been answered on the informational hub, you can submit those to the Hospital Information Feedback Form.
